MG Motor has announced the launch of its new MG Gloster seven-seater savvy variant on 9th August. Currently, the Gloster SUV is available in a six-seat configuration. This SUV is one of the most technologically advanced SUVs from MG motor, and the price tag is between 29.98 lakh to Rs. 36.8 lakh.
MG Motor entered the full-size SUV sector last year with its six-seater MG Gloster. Currently, this SUV is available in four variants: Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy, and savvy is the top variant of these 4. The savvy variant is yet available in only a six-seater configuration. This seven-seat configuration is available only in super variant and sharp variants. Apart from the change in seating configuration, no other changes, whether technical or visual, are expected. So this implies that the SUV will remain unchanged in terms of its looks and design.
MG Gloster seven-seater savvy variant will feature automatic emergency braking, cruise control, collision warning, lane departure warning, and many more.
In its interior, this SUV will feature a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
Moving on to electrical, it will offer LED projector headlights, DRLs, and LED taillights.
The seating configuration increases as the middle row will have a bench seat to accommodate three passengers.
Other features will remain the same.
Currently, four color options are available for MG Gloster savvy variant: Agate Red, Metal Black, Metal Ash, and Warm White.
Other features are 19-inch alloy wheels, skid plates at both ends, twin Chrome exhaust, cornering lamps, sidestep, roof rails, and Chrome finished window line.
In terms of safety features, it has adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, an automatic parking assistance system, etc. All these features are included in the Advanced Driver Assistance System that makes it India’s first tech-laden SUV.
The list of its features doesn’t end here; it also features six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, an electronic stability program, traction control, and a 360-degree camera.
There are no specification upgrades expected in the seven-seater variant. It will share specifications similar to its six-seater variant currently available. The SUV equips a 1996cc, 2.0L twin-turbo engine which delivers a max power of 215 bhp @ 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 480 Nm @ 2400 rpm. An 8-speed manual transmission handles the transmission duties.
MG Gloster savvy variant offers three drive modes: Eco, Auto, and Sport. It also has four terrain modes: Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock.
This SUV equips both front and rear disc brakes and a front double helix independent suspension, and a rear 5-link integral suspension that handles the suspension duties of the SUV. The fuel economy of the MG Gloster savvy variant is around 12.4 kmpl.
In terms of competition, MG Gloster seven-seater savvy variant will rival against the SUVs of its segment, such as Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
